Arxax and Kostner Join Forces for Sustainable Mobility in South Tyrol

Arxax, an innovative technology company specialising in payment solutions and road transport decarbonisation, and Kostner Service, a family-owned South Tyrolean group operating in energy and mobility since 1947, today announce a strategic partnership to expand Arxax’s smart refuelling network along one of Europe’s busiest Alpine corridors: the Brenner corridor.
The agreement will see Arxax Pay integrated into Kostner’s service stations, offering fleets travelling through the region a cardless and cashless payment experience that complements Kostner’s existing digital tools and extends interoperability for those travelling along the Italy–Austria route.
What sets Kostner apart
Founded in 1947 as a local supplier of firewood and coal, the Kostner family business has grown into a group with four divisions specialising in energy, environmental services, service stations and electric mobility.
Today, Kostner Service operates ten modern stations across South Tyrol, bringing together refuelling, EV charging, car washes and quality dining in a single experience. Key strengths include HVO biofuel, which can reduce CO₂ emissions by up to 90% compared with conventional diesel, and the e-Charge station in Varna, ranked among the world’s ten best EV charging stations in 2025.
This combination of family heritage, a strategic Alpine location and a continued commitment to innovation makes Kostner an ideal partner for the Arxax network.
“Kostner represents exactly the kind of partner we are looking for along the Brenner corridor,” said Elham Hassanzadeh, CEO of Arxax. “A group that has been innovating for nearly eighty years while remaining a family business, and that is already shaping the future of refuelling in the Alpine region through alternative fuels and electric mobility.”
“Integrating Arxax Pay into our stations means offering those travelling through South Tyrol an even simpler, more digital refuelling experience,” said Urban Tragust, CEO of Kostner. “This collaboration fits perfectly with our journey towards increasingly sustainable and connected mobility.”
The project strengthens Arxax’s presence across the Alpine region and reaffirms both companies’ commitment to more efficient, digital and environmentally sustainable transport along the Brenner corridor.
