Arxax, a fintech startup building digital payment infrastructure for alternative refuelling and recharging in road transport, has received a strategic equity investment from the Centro Nazionale per la Mobilità Sostenibile (MOST), Italy's National Centre for Sustainable Mobility.
MOST is one of Italy's flagship research and innovation programmes, established under Mission 4, Component 2 (M4C2) of the Piano Nazionale di Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR) — Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan, funded by the European Union's NextGenerationEU program.
The Centre brings together 24 universities, the Italian National Research Council (CNR), and 24 leading companies to develop scalable solutions for greener, smarter mobility across Italy and Europe.
The investment in Arxax falls within MOST's commitment to accelerating the energy transition in road transport — a domain where Arxax operates at the intersection of fintech, logistics, and clean energy. Arxax's platform enables fleet operators to manage digital payments across multiple alternative fuel types — including LNG, CNG, HVO, hydrogen, and EV charging — through a single integrated system, while providing globally certified real-time carbon footprint measurement and reporting.
The strategic alignment between Arxax and MOST is rooted in shared priorities: decarbonising freight transport, digitalising fuel and energy transactions, and building the financial infrastructure needed to scale alternative fuel adoption across European road networks.
Elham Hassanzadeh, CEO & Founder, Arxax:
"This is a strategic investment that represents far more than capital. MOST's mission — to make mobility greener and more digital — is precisely what Arxax was built to deliver. Our objectives are fundamentally aligned: we both believe that the energy transition in road transport requires not only new fuels and new vehicles, but new financial and digital infrastructure to connect them. Being backed by Italy's premier national centre for sustainable mobility, funded under the PNRR's M4C2 mission, validates our approach and positions Arxax at the heart of Europe's transport decarbonisation agenda."
